It's like building a house: you can fix up what it looks like afterwards with a paint job. But cut corners with the bearing structures and you can forget about fixing it up.

The point is that OSX is Unix too. Somehow those "cut corners" don't bother those who believe that it's the Desktop/Laptop Nirvana...

Don't be too proud of that comeback. Apple pretty much wrote its own user interface. It doesn't use X and has little in common with other Unix desktops.
