I agree with a lot of the points you make here. I find it interesting that what is written for Mango Parfait in essence reads just like the comments a Manga author makes on the back pages of a manga (if that is what it is called). A bit of self-denigration, self-importance and referrals to personal affairs. Perhaps Mango is more of an attempt to emulate the mannerism of Manga authors. Yet one could argue that if the writing was eliciting a negative response the author should have write more appropriate content. |
