I liked Foresight, even if it was a GNOME distro, it was fast and stable and not bloated at all (ahem...Ubtunu...). Just my O. Edit: It's also nice to see something other than a 'buntu-style distro being preinstalled on a PC. This is good news and a good sign. |

Couldn't they shoehorn a CD/DVD drive into that thing? |
| rijelkentaurus Mar 05, 2008 9:24 AM EST |
Not for $199, I guess. |

CD/DVD is so last-millennium. USB devices rule now. Though it's just a matter of time until direct neural implants supplant both. |

"Though it's just a matter of time until direct neural implants supplant both." Then shall begin Armageddon. |

heh. Upon plugging your brain into a windows box: "Brain could not be read. Format? Y/N" |

techiem2, anyone who connects their brain directly to a Windows box is just trying to assist natural selection in doing its job. |

Your eyes will simply show miniature BSODs. |

Market opportunity! BSOD contacts. |

@techiem2: Quoting: "Brain could not be read. Format? Y/N" "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy" (Dorothy Parker) |

lol So TC, will there be a Darwin Award for the first person to die via a windows virus from plugging their brain into a windows box? |

A USB DVD writer is probably a must-have peripheral for this thing. So make it $199 + $60. |

Quoting: will there be a Darwin Award for the first person to die via a windows virus from plugging their brain into a windows box? I predict they'll need a whole new category just to handle the sheer volume of nominees. |
