I've been playing with the Clonezilla/SystemRescueCD combo CD a bit lately.

While Clonezilla is nice, it has a few major issues I've noticed so far:

1. It will not simply backup and restore a partition. - That option backs up and restores the partition table as well, thus defeating the purpose of a simple partition backup/restore.

2. It doesn't support saving/restoring from a partimage server (probably because the partition clone option does the partition table instead of just backing up the partition with partimage as expected).

3. A disk backup will only restore to the same device name it was backed up from. I.E. you can't backup sda and restore to sdb or hda or whatever.

If these were fixed, it would be a great tool. But those issues make it useless for many common operations.
