I live here in Thailand for 12 years now...........they do the same. Not that they say linux is crap or something like that, but it is familiarity with windows. Asus is offering blank HDs on their M-series laptops and a Linux CD with the sale. Next shop sell XP, Office and Photoshop on one CD for $5. I have seen MANY shops who sell comps with linux preinstalled ( Mandriva - Fedora ) . Same as above...clean HD, install XP

No mention of Thailand in the WTO when it comes to 'piracy'. However, Russia _was_ mentioned and threatened with sanctions if they didn't do anything about - amongst others -pirated software. Strange, isn't it? Probably the Russians are far richer, so they don't mind trading oil & gas against Windows licenses.
