Ms. Schroeder's background brings in a diverse base of experience: auto mechanic, massage therapist, journalist, computer consultant.

At first glance, these may have little to do with one another, but (I speak from experience) the experience one occupation brings can prove useful in a totally different occupation, just often enough to justify the effort.

Right now, I'm doing bench work in a factory/material handling setting. The stuff I've learned about CPU optimization, especially cache pre-fetching, has enabled me to keep both hands busy (and my numbers up) even during a "slow" day.

Carla takes it to the next level, making a paying job of it. Good on ya, tuxchick!
