I would be very interested in seeing a cost/performance comparison between the Sony PlayStation3 "supercomputer node" running Linux, with the Cray CX1 with Windows.

Oh, sorry, not "Windows", "Microsoft HPC Server 2008".

Ok, yes, I'm being flippant. That doesn't mean I would not be interested.

*Edit: Those IBM Cell processors are very interesting. Where is the project to make a regular PC's video card's GPU into a coprocessor when not in use by OpenGL? Instant multi-processing.

That would just about be an even match, as long as the Cray had the maximum RAM and CPU.
