On my Debian Squeeze PC, I found what looks to be flash cookies in 2 different sub-folders within ~/.macromedia.

I took a chance and deleted all of the contents of both sub-folders. Then I locked both of them (chmod 000).

So far, so good -- Youtube videos still worked afterward.

Colonel, I am shamelessly poaching all of these good ideas and rolling them into an article which will run tomorrow on LinuxPlanet.
