I'm not certain, but this is the price you pay -For doing business in Russia (Sakhalin II, Yukos etc.) -For forcing governments to buy crap like Vista

Probably both. Nonetheless, I can't feel pity for both of them. Kremlin is stupid enough to make themselves dependent of Microsoft, and Microsoft asks such an enormous amount of money from something they can copy almost without costs and then spending that money in unprofitable business such as Bing and Zune - it's almost a crime indeed.

I actually posted an article about this a couple of days ago. I can't disagree with anything you've written, of course. I'd think that in Russia they'd want an OS that didn't mean sending large sums of money to American companies but I guess I was wrong about that.
