Canon refused to develop a linuxdriver for the 500 hospital-scanners in a Ubuntu oriented Dutch hospital ...so the hospital ict people asked Canon for some info on those scanners, so that they could develop a driver for their own benefit, because replacing all those 500 scanners would cost 250000 euro's...also Canon refused that...so via internet an American from SANE made a driver to their wish for 1500 euro .
