Don't know, it was never down for me, but then I have been away for a couple of hours too.

@bob --

I had an outage as well, and I think you guys need to get serious about quality control.

I went into my office and my computer was completely powered down. I'm sure that LXer had been on one of my browser tabs.

Get hopping on that, OK?

@bob: Looks like you were right. I was cut off from lxer (and from alterslash.org for that matter) until just now, rebooting the DSL modem to get a new IP. http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com was my friend :) Dunno why my IP# woulda been blocked.

We have implemented bbcodes across the site and have had a few hiccups come up. We are working on getting things back to normal presently. Please pardon our dust..;-)

I saw about it on your FaceBook page. The new quotes look more pretty, now lets wait to see what other bbcodes there are =)

Ohh, bbcode. Nice. I also noticed that the styling for quotes has changed. Much better, thanks!

All strikes me as a little odd, though.

BBQ -- Nice! Bbcode? Sounds a little hard to swallow.

Means I can post Dino without HTML, and <i> without escape quotes.

Fancy stuff eh? Smileys not incorporated yet though :(

@Hans:

Nobody italicizes dino!!!!!!!

OTOH, the bbcodes can make posting a little more fun, so long as nobody gets carried away!

LXer has a candy store now? Why does no one tell me these things?

Oh, and posting is apparently working now.

Hmm. Apparently I spoke too soon. I'm still getting the ocassional "Error: The system encounted a grievous error and the program was halted."

Apparently I can't post to the "So how long until..." thread.

@jdixon: Are you sure it's the thread and not your message contents?

Sander -

The problem happens on multiple threads for me, but I can't be certain there's nothing in my messages that causes it to happen.

Critics everywhere, you know.

It are a few characters that make the system go wild, and generate a mysql error. Looks like a side effect of the new posting system.

Since we all know you're a Slacker who probably doesn't even like a colorized terminal.

Pretty sure. There was nothing out of the ordinary in my message.

Well, OK, since you put it that way. :) I don't actually know if my xterms are colorized or not. My console screens are though.
