I'm very pleased to see mesh networking getting some attention. I recently tried to turn up a dd-wrt router for ad-hoc for a fun weekend project, but when I tried to turn on ad-hoc mode in WICD on my laptop it just locked up entirely. I likely should have tried NetworkManager to see if it did any better, but oh well. It's fascinating to see what it is people are interested in working on in the Linux kernel. Too bad there isn't more motivation to fix the regressions before taking on more of other work. |
