I've been using Proxmox on my personal VM server and on the church/school router/VM server for a while now. It's basically a Debian base with a really nice management interface. I haven't messed with the openvz stuff much (maybe a couple times, but iirc most of my vm setups had requirements that openvz couldn't meet), but I have a fair number of kvm machines.
