When I boot GeexBox from the CD, the drive door is locked, and the boot medium won't eject. I have a system w/ 4G of RAM, so once the system presents the main menu, the boot medium isn't needed, but the refusal to eject means I can't play any DVD's.

The "play"-like button in the lower left has an "Eject" option, but clicking it does no good.

Final rating: needs work.

Does GeeXboX advertise itself as a distro that can load fully into memory and no longer need the live disc to work after boot?

Okay, you got me on that one. The previous version did, and it's surprising that this version does not.

However, even after booting from USB, it doesn't recognize my PATA DVD drive.

This ain't good.
