An X Windows layer in the graphics stack

The solution for X-Windows on Wayland is straightforward. There will be an X-windows layer in the Wayland graphics stack. That came out some time ago during initial discussions about all this. No vendor of server side Linux distros would accept any other solution. In case you haven't noticed they are the big players in Linux (eg. RedHat). Don't worry folks, X isn't going away any time soon. |
