Robert Pogson's guess, a new business offering to put Ubuntu into a position to compete with Red Hat and SUSE, makes a lot of sense. There is a lot of money to be made in the enterprise market, Linux penetration in business and government (including on the desktop) is only increasing, and Novell/SUSE service leaves a lot to be desired. I work in a SUSE shop and I speak from recent experience on that last point. There is plenty of room for a new competitor in enterprise space. |
