So long as it cannot be turned off, I will not buy a system with UEFI.

Not that I'm going to be buying any new systems for a while, what I have is working fine.

I'm assuming you mean you won't buy a system with Secure Boot (so long as it can't be turned off, which it usually can, though you may have to do some digging in the settings). My most recent desktop is UEFI, but Secure Boot is nowhere to be found on it.
