Pear have flouted the rules of GPL for a while now. Source Code has never been made available.

Had source code been available somebody could have easily forked it and created a new version. (Ala BananaOS).

Anyone ever try PearOS? I did. I wasn't particularly impressed. I fear that the new owners may have bought a lemon.

Out of curiosity, I wanted to check it out and I was able to download release 8 from here on SOFTPEDIA

But It was very very slow.
