Quoting:"no commercial (non open-source) software is involved"

Commercial is not the opposite of Open Source or Free Software.

"Commercial" refers to charging money for the software, and neither Open Source or Free Software are concerned with the price of software or the ability to charge for software.

That's a good point to keep in mind. Due to the limitations of the English language, "free" and "free" have different meanings.

Other languages don't have this ambiguity since they have different words for "free as in liberty" and "free as in no cost".

We are all about "free as in liberty" and if someone wants to form a business model around this software (as many have, e.g. Redhat, IBM, Canonical, ...) then so be it.
