> a national non-profit that provides technical education for women

My immediate understanding is : a male knocks at the door of this organization for technical education and is told : 'You're not a female, our tech education is not for you. '.

If, and only if I'm wrong, how would it be welcome the other way round : a female knocks at the door of a tech education organization and is told : 'You're not a male, our tech education is not for you' !

I definitely want to have missed something in this post !

Males are not systematically excluded from tech education. Women are.

I refute this statement.

There are thousands of programs out there for college and high school women and girls to participate in advanced engineering and mathematics programs.

Here's a small sampling:

MIT.

Caltech.

U of Texas.

In fact, practically everywhere you look there are giant signs pasted all over every educational institution for women to be exclusively included in tech education. Having said that, I see no problem with any program that seeks to further the education of any person. I simply refute the meme that women are currently being systematically excluded from becoming educated in any particular area.

Did I mention that I have a high school age son? And that he's enrolled in technology specialized high school? And that his engineering centered school is greater than 50% female?

If there was a prior problem of systematic exclusion of women in tech education, that problem has been solved. You could argue a particular case or a particular situation of excluding women, but systematic exclusion? No. That statement seems to be unsupported by the current educational reality.

Seriously? You actually think they are being excluded?
