Immutable desktops like Fedora Kinoite and Silverblue

Immutable desktops are the future, but I'm not sure they are the present. Applications come in through Flatpak. I had trouble with Flatpak in Debian Buster (many apps wouldn't install) and Bullseye (permissions issues). I'm glad they're working on it, but I don't think Silverblue is ready for "production," as it were.

I'm interested in trying it, although the idea of flatpaks for almost everything doesn't seem like its there yet for me

In Fedora Silverblue, you have to add "Toolboxes" to get most console apps and programming languages. The Flatpaks are generally just for GUI apps.
