While I can't predict the success of this effort, this is exactly the kinds of things we need to be seeing. I mean, right now, all the efficient non-slow-mo remote desktop solutions are X11 based. And strip painting frame buffers sounds nice and indeed, with out heavy handed CPUs and golden perfect LANs, we forget that making things work by "might", isn't necessarily "working" the best way possible. Hoping this project brings genuine efficient remote desktop to "variable" networks. We just don't have this today Wayland wise. |
