Right now, 2023-09-27, there are no less than 5 LXer headlines called "How to Install ___". And this reminds me of Paul Vixie's installation notes:

"Note that if I can get you to 'su and say' something just by asking, you have a very serious security problem on your system and you should look into it."

Good point Gus. My personal practice is to simply do installations out of the distro's repo. dnf and apt are my friends. Beyond that, I also like to do my own builds from source. Trusting some unknown third party's binary is not really in line with open source ideals, and could easily lead to a big security problem. imho
