IBM Opteron workstation

I had a chat the other day about this topic. Up to now I have not seen any of the BigBoys (TM) come along with an Opteron based workstation. HP only offers servers at this point (could be I am wrong, since I havent looked at their webpages, lately), Dell -- well..., Sun -- no idea (they dont do linux, do they? - haha, only serious) My conclusion was that IBM would be most likely the first in this market. And projecting the computing needs of my employer I would expect that there is a market and it will be growing with every installed machine. Way to go, IBM |
