Antivirus software is not a solution. It is nothing more than a big ugly bandaid. Linux is certainly not immune to security violations, but I hardly see the AV makers gaining much traction. System security is just not as easy as installing an AV package. The AV companies may have a very long wait ahead of them. Also, if ever there is a real virus outbreak, expect it to be hyped up far beyond appropriate levels.
