FOSDEM conference due to start next week

The Free and Open Source Developers conference, one of Europe's finest free technical conferences, opens its doors Saturday the 23th in Brussels, Belgium. In anticipation of the main track talks, a batch of interviews with FLOSS project leaders have been published at the FOSDEM website. You can read up on Linux in Hollywood, Perl6, klik2 and much more at fosdem.org/2008/interviews. The event features a busy line-up of project development rooms, a Lightning Talk track and a social beer tasting event the night before.

FOSDEM conference: three days to go

The last interviews have been published for the FOSDEM conference, which starts in just three days. The list of interviewees is impressive this time around, with Simon Phipps from Sun Microsystems, Jeremy Allison from Samba, Keith Packard from X.org, Miguel De Icaza (Mono/Novell), Paul Everitt (Plone and Zope), and Pete Herzog (Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual).

FOSDEM interviews: software patents, security, JBoss jBPM and Firebug

As FOSDEM is about to start next week, a new set of interviews has been released. This time the project leaders of FSFE, FFII JBoss jBPM and Firebug talk about their projects in anticipation of their talk.
Joe Hewitt of Firebug won't be able to present at FOSDEM, and ,will be replaced by Drupal creator Dries Buytaert. Who is, ironically enough, an avid Firebug user himself.

Interview: Kristian Høgsberg

Learn all about the history and prospects of AIGLX from its creator and FOSDEM 2007 speaker Kristian Høgsberg. In an interview he reveals that AIGLX is 'more or less just done', and he is now working on Linux FireWire drivers for Red Hat.
