2-day trip for Linux in China

Two members of ShangHai Linux User Group and Herbert Xu, a famous China native Linux kernel hacker, enjoyed a 2-day trip for Linux Conference of USTC (University of Science and Technology of China) in HeFei of China.

Two members of ShangHai Linux User Group and Herbert Xu, a famous China native Linux kernel hacker, enjoyed a 2-day trip for Linux Conference of USTC (University of Science and Technology of China) in HeFei of China.

The network center of USTC invites them to take part in the annual conference of USTC Linux user group. Herbert gave two lectures. The first one is about basic Linux kernel for more than 100 students of USTC, the second lecture is the advanced hack of Linux kernel for developer.

The USTC is the forthgoer to deploy the Linux system in the campus computer network in China.

Recently, Xiaofeng,Wu, a student of USTC finish the kernel patch for the adaptive readahead technology. It’s the very important achievement from Chinese kernel hackers.

They also visit the high performance computer based Chinese Loongson CPU, which is called “KD-50”.This computer is built by the teacher and student of USTC, it has 1T FLOPS.
