The flights have been confirmed for some time and they're now being boarded. Speakers are packing and heading to Los Angeles, ready to rehearse their presentations before they go on sometime between Friday and Sunday. Exhibitors prepare to set up their booths. Registrations for the expo continue to roll in. Are you ready for some Linux The 9th annual Southern California Linux Expo is set to start tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 25, at the Hllton Los Angeles Airport hotel.

SCALE 9X begins tomorrow with a wide range of presentations. presents an all-day session on building an open-source cloud. Fedora will host its Fedora Activity Day, in which it will offer attendees a path of study to help folks take the Red Hat Certified Engineer test. PostgreSQL will host a day-long sessions on uses for its database software. Ubuntu is hosting Ubucon, a gathering to cover what's going on in the community.

Friday will also have a Mentor track and a DevOps track with individual presentations. Friday concludes with a Happy Hour sponsored by Rackspace Hosting and the highlight of the evening, the UpSCALE Talks.

Nine topics featuring 13 speakers make up the UpSCALE talks, where the speakers are given 15 seconds per automatically advanced slide to give their five-minute presentation.

The expo floor opens Saturday, and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday the floor is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
