Oracle Releases VirtualBox 5.0.18, Adds Initial Support for Linux Kernel 4.6

Oracle published a new update for its acclaimed VirtualBox open-source and multiplatform virtualization software, version 5.0.18.

Release highlights include initial support for Linux kernel 4.6, which is currently under heavy development with a fourth Release Candidate (RC) build out the door yesterday, better support for the Linux 4.5 kernel series, as well as the addition of a Linux kernel graphics driver to support GPUs when X.Org Server doesn't have administrative rights.

Moreover, jumbo frames with bridged networking should work again on Windows hosts, some hardening fixes for Windows 10 Insider builds were added, there's support for the new naming scheme of NVMe disks for Linux hosts, the drag-and-drop functionality received improvements, and PC speaker passthrough will work better on Linux.
