GeckoLinux Static Editions Get Calamares Installer, Based on openSUSE Leap 42.2

The developers of the openSUSE-based GeckoLinux computer operating system have announced the release of a new set of respined live ISO images of their GNU/Linux distribution, which is now rebased on openSUSE Leap 42.2.

The latest GeckoLinux Static editions were updated this week to version 422.161213, based on the recently released openSUSE Leap 42.2 operating system, and it ships with the long-term supported Linux 4.4.36 kernel, GNU C Library 2.22, systemd 228 init system, as well as Qt 5.6.1 for KDE Plasma 5 and LXQt desktops.

Continuing, GeckoLinux Static 422.161213 includes the GTK+ 3.20 GUI toolkit for the rest of the flavors, such as with the GNOME, Xfce, Cinnamon, MATE, and Budgie desktop environments. Taking about the included desktops, this release comes with KDE Plasma 5.8.2 LTS, Cinnamon 3.0.7, Xfce 4.12, GNOME 3.20, Budgie 10.2.9, MATE 1.16, and LXQt 0.11.0.
