A current issue of Sun Microsystems' custom news service, SunFlash, highlights an important new book, Exploring the JDS Linux Desktop, for potential converts to the Java Desktop System. Potential converts in this context would be all Windows users--particularly in the enterprise.

Glossing the benefits of JDS, itself, as well as the relevance of the book to frustrated Windows users, Sun says, "The Sun Java Desktop System behaves much like a Microsoft Windows or Apple Macintosh system, but offers many more powerful features. Readers [of Exploring the JDS Linux Destkop] are given a chance to test drive this desktop with the book's accompanying LiveCD that does not require installation and will not overwrite a system's existing applications."
