Happy birthday, Red Hat Magazine. We're one. And we can't wait to turn two and start throwing tantrums.

This month we pick up where our first issue began--with Fedora Project. We offer advice on how to get involved in the Fedora community, an in-depth review of five Fedora books, and a Fedora Extras Focus highlighting gDeskCal, revelation, and meld.

Also this month, what Sisyphus and security have in common, weigh in on Linux and the desktop, plus a look back at Red Hat's early days. And don't miss out on part 2 of integrating applications into the desktop.

Our birthday celebration, however, is tempered with a farewell. This also marks the last issue for Tammy Fox, Red Hat Magazine's founding editor. Our thanks and best wishes to Tammy and her family.

And thank you, readers, for a great first year.
