We have seen recovery CD's and DVD's from the likes of Dell and Gateway. Now LixSystems has adopted this scheme for Linux - delivering various motherboards and HTPC's with Linux System images on DVD including drivers from 3D and networking to XvMC(HW-MPEG), allowing a fully configured Linux install in 15 minutes. Imagine buying a motherboard for $50 and getting the OS with all drivers for FREE. Didn't Bill Gates just recently try to convince us that it should be the other way around - pay for the OS, get the hardware for free?
