The Southern California Linux Expo is this weekend in Los Angeles. Here are some last minute details

The Expo has added one additional speaker. Doug Hass, Director of Business Development for ImageStream, will speak on “Advanced Quality of Service and Firewalls using Linux”

His presentation covers the key concepts of quality of service and access list filtering using Open Source tools. The presentation includes an explanation of filtering using Linux's iptables tool and standard queuing methods as defined in the Differentiated Services RFC as well as applications of these methods through generic case studies.

The Expo has added another BOF, “Schools And Open Source Software”. There are a few BOF (Birds Of a Feather) session slots still available at SCALE on Sunday. If your group needs a meeting room for a BOF, contact to reserve one. The current BOFs can be viewed at

If you don't register ahead of time and have a question about the Expo during the Expo weekend, the SCALE phone number will be manned during show hours. You can call 877-831-2569 and be routed through the SCALE Asterisk PBX directly to someone at Registration.

The Vendor showcases currently booked are IBM with “Business Innovation Through Linux”, and Verio with “Linux Virtualization in Action”.

The SCALE sponsors have generously donated oodles of prizes for the SCALE raffles. The biggies are:
