Linux Will Be An Army of One

The U.S. Army will eventually be switching entirely over to Linux. Once the Government and its institutions embrace Linux, how long until the people embrace it as well?

With the U.S. Army moving towards full Linux adoption, what will this mean for the average American? And what will it mean for Linux? It should improve interoperability between Linux and Windows in the meantime, while the Army slowly moves over to Linux. It might also mean, over the long haul, that less money is spent on the IT budgets for the American military, less of a burden on the tax payer, and more money to go into repairing some of the recent damage done to the stagnant American economy.
