SourceForge Opens 2008 Community Choice Awards to ALL Open Source Software

New Categories and eligibility added to previous open voting process

Ross Turk, Community Manager at http://SourceForge.net/, today announced the guidelines for the 2008 Community Choice Awards. Starting this year, the awards are open to any open source project, even those hosted outside of SourceForge. Keeping with tradition, the awards are chosen based solely on community voting in an open voting process.

Best Project for the Enterprise
Most Likely to Be the Next $1B Acquisition (NEW)
Best Project for Multimedia
Best Project for Gamers
Most Likely to Change the World (NEW)

Most Likely to Be Ambiguously Accused of Patent Violation (NEW)
Most Likely to Get Users Sued (NEW)
Best Tool or Utility for SysAdmins
Best Tool or Utility for Developers
Best Project for Educators (NEW)
