Linux E-Mail Platform Could Aid Migration

Scalix released a new version of its Linux-based e-mail and calendaring software and expanded desktop support. The San Mateo, Calif.-based vendor of messaging software said that Scalix 9.0, released on Monday, offers a migration path to Linux messaging by providing cross-platform interoperability.

This thing is actually the old HP OpenMail code. Anyone who has OpenMail experience might recall that it is an absolute beast to administer. And while you can use the Outlook calendar with it, your calendar data is stored in TNEF format on the server. This means you can't share calendars with non-Outlook users on the same server.
