Microsoft confirms supercomputing plans

Microsoft will sell a version of Windows for high-performance computing--a niche in which rival Linux is blossoming--with a first version planned for the second half of 2005.

High processing overhead, high licensing costs ... how much more inefficient can you get? Why would anyone want to pay for all those Windows licenses and then end up with a system where most of the processing power gets eaten by the OS?

Microsoft is going to have to pay customers to run this. And I have no doubt that they will.
