We have covered this is details but now we are starting to see some analysis of the long term effect of this huge blunder by Sony Like Here http://www.slyck.com/news.php?story=997

In many ways we should be grateful for what Sony have done. Such a spectacular, entertaining (for Linux users) Clusterf**k does not come around every day and we all stand to benefit from the diminished stature of DRM etc.
