Bill Hilf blog attracts anti-Microsoft posters

After calling GNU/Linux an un-American cancer for copyrighted works with pac-man like licensing, bankrolling a frivolous lawsuit against IBM with massive FUD against GNU/Linux (through their proxy TSG) and after their Get the FUD campaign, do they really think a measly website with no content is enough to shake their image as a highly predatious competition assassin?

For me the only good Microsoft is a dead Microsoft.

I'll dance on their grave with you.

Every time I witness some poor schmuck battling what jimf calls the "Empire of Ignorance", trying to get something done, I imagine how much better off the world would be without the continuous, deliberate damage, obfuscation and lies spewing from Microsoft. Even when they're found guilty of illegal activity, they escape any effective punishment. They are never deprived of their ill-gotten gains (only some of the interest on it) and they never receive sufficient incentive to halt their illegal activity. Each time some regulatory body of some government stirs itself to react to some leveraging or predation by Microsoft, Microsoft simply pulls other levers to expand their influence during the years of inept, ineffective, inconsequential governmental scrutiny.

That's total BS. I made one post several days ago. It was deleted within an hour, presumably because while the first half was on topic, I finished the post with a brief explanation of why I switched to Linux at home, though I still use Windows at work. I tried to keep it fairly polite. The thread I posted to was about the posix subsystem improvements in Vista. They had a nice video.

If there are a lot of anti-Microsoft posts, it's because Microsoft hasn't been able to moderate them fast enough.

There were a lot of anti-Microsoft posts. A whole lot. I only managed to scroll through the first 50 or so.

Maybe I beat the crowd, and they stopped moderating soon after.

How can you tell when Microsoft is lying?

If they still exist, they're lying.

dtfinch: You did exactly what they did not want you to do. You stated your case on why Linux IS better. In the article they quote a system admin who says..

"I have Windows desktops and they run well enough (WSUS is a godsend), but here's the rub. I have two Windows servers on the network and they constantly need rebooting. My Linux boxes run under heavy load for months and years at a time, my Windows servers last a week before needing a "pre-emptive reboot". Maybe it's MS's fault, maybe it's the software I'm running on top of it, maybe its both, all I know is that my servers have to just work 24x7 and I don't get that with Microsoft products."

That says it all.

We don't need your bad software - we can have an excellent computer experience without your software.

And now you will try to lock your platform in more with the media drm codecs lockin.

Instead of wasting time with your blog why don't you help sites like cnn have their video format changed so EVERYONE can view it - not just the people who wasted their hard earned money on your bad software. While you are at it why don't add ODF support to office - I am sure it would only take you coders about a week - scratch that a month to do it.

I haven't even visited this port 25 site and have no plans to.
