4:48 PM EDT 		This sounds very "ESL press release". The real event was probably very interesting but the text just reeks of a reporter who is accustomed to tiptoeing through political minefields. All of the useful (read: potentially controversial) detail has been leached out of it.

Were there any LXer readers on the ground there for the event?
