Enjoy this classic and remember it when someone mentions forecasts by experts.

I reread the story and realized it was IDC that made the forecast. You know the guys that has Windows Servers Sales at 37% vs Linux 11%.

There are a WHOLE LOTTA Windows boxes out there, and they got a big head start. That actually what makes the growth in Linux servers even more remarkable. Having sampled the Microsoft "solution", companies are looking for something better.
