Nokia dumping Symbian

N8 will be the last Nokia N-series phone running Symbian operating system. Nokia's Symbian operating system has been dealt a further blow with the cellphone maker announcing it will be dropping it in favour of the Linux MeeGo operating system for its high-end smartphones.

I found a useful sound effect in an online video from NASA which replaces an earlier temporary sound I used in a scene soundtrack for the Lunatics pilot, “No Children in Space.” I’m going to extract the sound from the video (with VLC), cut out the sound I need, clean it up, and insert it into an existing sound mix (all with Audacity). MeeGo Conference Announced

MeeGo, the open source operating system shepherded by Intel and Nokia, announced the first annual MeeGo Conference. Slated for November 15-17, the conference takes place in Dublin Ireland with more details set to come. As of now, registration and paper submissions have yet to be announced and sponsors haven't even been nailed down.
