Linux 7.3: Rust Mali GPU driver Tyr boots firmware, with 6 unsafe lines out of 3,700

With Linux 7.3, released this past weekend, Tyr, the Rust driver for Arm Mali GPUs, can now boot the GPU’s firmware using only mainline Rust DRM abstractions. Just six of its roughly 3,700 lines use unsafe Rust, and along the way it’s helping build the Rust foundations that future kernel drivers will rely on.
