Lots of potential uses, how much will it cost?

Not a lot of detail in the article, other than that Sensory Networks is developing a PCI card with hardware pattern-matching that ClamAV will support as well (for checking virus 'signatures', obviously). Could the same card be used to accelerate, for example, searches of DNA databases and other biological data? |
