It's still not Windows (most importantly) and it's Unix based so there's a deal of similarity between Linux and OSX. Meaning, with a minimum of training/learning, the skills are inter-changable whichever direction you are going in. Having spent yesterday afternoon getting sal paradise junior's Mac mini online I can testify to the similarity. It's just the nature of the source (which is not as big a selling point as some would have us believe) and Apples curious tendency to threaten to sue private individuals that remains undealt with.

I'm from Melbourne originally and this is a quite wealthy private school. Eye candy with unix under the hood beats unpolished Debian when money is no object. Not surprising really. Plus the eastern suburbs of Melbourne are full of narcissists prone to falling in love with Macs ;-) ;-)
