Tried using PCLinuxOS as a LiveCD on my wife's old Latitude CPXJ, as an aide to upgrading her hard-drive without having to install her NTFS-based Windows XP. Was able to boot up, but X just made the screen glow -- nothing useful. console mode worked fine, recognized the new hard-drive hanging off her USB port, etc. I know the Live-CD has some x display options, may have to root around to see if any of them help and try again... |
