Welcome to the real world. Humans aren't always (make that most of the time) the nice and higher spirited beings that we tend to make of ourselves when thinking idealistically about humanity. "Us versus them" is a basic evolutionary instinct underlying the flamewars. If we can get an advantage at the cost of them, we have a better chance to survive. Ofcourse this drive is utterly meaningless in our highly abstracted environment. OSes are not really essential to survival, but the emotional wiring is still very much adapted to "wildlife" situations... |
