Not Good Approach

I personally don't agree with this appoarch. I think he is trying to break up OOo apps (Writer, Calc, etc...) to miniaturize them in order to make them launch faster. I don't think this is necessary. What OOo needs, and I am sure the developers will do that when appropriate, is to clean up and optimize the code. May be that is what he should do instead to see how it would improve what exists already in OOo right now. There is the extr code that makes OOo compatible with MS Office, especially the import/export tools, which I think should be moved eventually, but not at this time, to a separate program or utility. I am suspecting that MS will eventually have to support OpenDocument Format which will be used to exchange documents between suites.
