It's not a misnomer, nor a negative title. It's just a pun on Ruby on Rails, the web development framework which was released only about 9 months ago, just reached version 1.0 last week, and yet already managed to completely take the web development world by storm.

The result is that most people know of Ruby only Rails, even to the point of equating the two, or thinking that Ruby the language was invented for Rails. Nothing could be further from the truth of course (Ruby is more than 10 years old already) but the image stays. This article tries to show how Ruby the programming language is much more than the Rails platform, and how it really shines by itself.

With this, I hope the possible misunderstandings around the title are gone :) .

Merry Christmas to everyone!

(to the editors: my apologies for not giving sign of life before. Except a full report soon, as soon as I can stay on the computer for more than 10 minutes. For now, I just want to wish you all a very merry Christmas :) )

Tsela - you are correct, however, I did note a pertinent fact:
Quoting:... take on Ruby from my quick scan
Defense rests.
